Just got an email saying the tft is out of stock

I have been tyring to order a laptop form here for the last week, I've tried several different one and am now sick of receiving the "Thank you for your recent order. Unfortunately, due to high demand the item you have ordered has sold out" emails. Tried ordering one yesterday morning, heres hoping that I got in quick enough!

Ok I have called them and I am actually get this one, apologies to anyone else who tried for the Sony Vaio @ £399. Apparently they are just having a big clear out of old stock and dont often have anything in the clearence section.

Good luck to anyone else who is trying to order something

I ordered the Toshiba laptop about 1.20am this morning. After ordering it though i noticed it was still showing on their site so how long before it gets updated i dont know. Maybe someone got there before me.

Is it so difficult for these companies to display once out of stock then out of stock??

There were over a dozen different laptops all with different specs and all around half the normal price.

Can I ask why you would want to know as none of them are available

I reckon that every time Empire Direct get a bit short of cash they put unbelievably cheap but unobtainable items on their site, take hundreds if not thousands of orders, cancel them immediately and hold onto our cash for 10 days because "it takes a while to process refunds".

And like a mug I fell for it AGAIN.

I'm not sure that is fair to them actually. I ordered the TFT, and later received an email saying they were unable to fulfill the order, but that no money had been taken from my card.

I dont think this is entirely fair either, I have tried to buy 3 laptops from them this week, and twice I have had the email telling me that there were none left, they've not taken anything from my credit card and I spoke to a very helpful chap called Robin this afternoon about the 3rd one, which will be shipped to me on Tuesday, I even checked that the laptop bag and mouse set which I had ordered along with each one had been cancelled, and on both other orders it had, other companies would have tried shipping it and billing me anyhow.
