    I ordered the Sony photo printer yesterday only to be contacted by Empire around an hour later. They said "there was a lot of people pressing the buy it now button at the same time". So they can't complete the order. They asked me to go back on their website and see if there was anything else that I liked and ring them back to sort out a deal.

    I did what they said and went back on the site to look at other printers only to find the Sony printer that I previously ordered is still on there.

    I am just wondering whether anyone got one of these clearance items or whether it was a cunning ploy for Empire direct to get a lot of traffic directed their way.

    BTW I originally found the link to the printer through the "offer of the day" site.

    sorry my friend but my m8 ordered the other one. Be surprised if we get them though.Knowing my luck he'll get his!!!

    Websites do this all the time. It's just a ploy to get more traffic, email address's and sales, then they pretend that there ordering system is faulty, give you a ring and try to offer you some sort of deal. Just a sneeky sales drive IMO.

    Just bought the sony DVD Camcorder for just £149! did a quick search on kelkoo and the cheapest price for that same model was £563!

    Just phoned Empire Direct & suprise, suprise I didn't get the base unit! I knew it was too much of a bargain too be true!

    Anyone actually get anything?
