Will have a look now, not looking forward to getting a headache trying to fill them in! x

Certainly they're daunting, don't try to do them all in one go, take a break occasionally and if you're unsure of anything ask on here, someone will help. There are no silly questions.

They are time consuming more than anything (and you need three copies each).

And on the two years bank/CC statements don't worry if you haven't got them, when the OR asks you for them just send what you have and they'll get anything else they need.

On "guidelines" if you post your SOA (statement of affairs) on here then people will advise.

It's really not that scary when you have support and knowledge.....keep calm.

  • Just so you don't feel alone - when we went to court to collect our papers they actually had a desk - filled with brown envelopes - all bankruptcy packs, and there was a queue to get them! Comforting in a very wierd sort of way x

I went with only two copies :o (unfortunately didn't find this place until after my BR and had been misinformed). Luckily a nice lady in the OR's office happily made me a copy.

Just wanted to send youa big hug, your doing thr right thing, may seem daunting, - but your get there, your get a lot of support from the forum, I have had some "family problems" and in all honeslty I don't know what I would have done without some if not most of the people.

Just take one step at at a time, if you have to walk away from the papers and get a coffee etc then be so there still be there.

Hiya again, ive been into town today and opened up us a joint basic bank account, with natwest, called the step account, all gone through fine, they did try to push us for a current account, and kept asking awkward questions, and i just said no i just want a basic one. Anyway when ive come away i noticed on the paperwork natwest are part of the royal bank of scotland, as i am currently with halifax and one of the loans is with halifax, who are part of the royal bank of scotland, have i shot myself in the foot? As i was told to move away from my creditor, so im a bit confused x

Natwest are not BR friendly and could close the account when you go BR.

The only 2 BR friendly accounts there are which will not be closed are the Co-op Cashminder account (you can open over the phone and if you don't have a branch near by then you deposit money/cheques in it through the post office. It has a debit card, telephone and internet banking, DD's and SO's.) or the Barclays Connect account (open in branch, no internet banking though it has a visa debit card and DD's and SO's.)

  • That's wot we did missgem, we had our step account for about 4 months before going BR and because it was kept in good order (and obviously no overdraft facility) we got a letter saying they were happy to allow us to keep it, and we can do on-line banking (a godsend to keep an eye on things, and having the debit card). We also had debts with Halifax n RBOS but it has never been a problem. All you can do is try it. We didnt get on with that at all because paying in was a real pain, but that's just my experience. x
