hi
i need to sort out my car insurance in a few weeks.
Ive been using quidco for other online purchases,
just wondered if car insurance via quidco is simple process.
In the past ive found insurers online, but the transaction is usually done via telephone as they want other details and you can discuss with them.
thanks.

I have bought insurance via quidco/topcashback for several years and got some spectacular deals. Never had a problem with the process. It's worth signing up for both and playing with them a bit. Your virus checker has to 'allow tracking cookies'
Having said that, the deals are not as good as they once were and fewer insurers are giving cashback this way now.0 -
i used topcash back to get £58 cashback on my car insurance.
which i'm still waiting for. (took out the policy in june 2010)
also, avoid Hastings Direct. They are a terrible terrible 'company'. took 50 days to receive a valuation cheque from them after a write-off. they don't ring you when you ask them to. Managers are unobtainable and they. I'm still waiting for a revaluation to go through as well.0 -
I got £75 back from Quidco last year. Just follow the instructions on this website.0

thanks.
what about car breakdown cover?
i think i want to go with AA again.
ive had them for 1 year, with parts and labour policy (ive an old car you see, which is always breaking down)
RAC dont do parts and labour.
this policy is on quidco, but would i have to Renew my current policy directly with AA, or could i just make a new purchase on quidco/AA wesbite?0 -

Do not renew, make sure that it has ended, then start again, via Quidco or TCB.0 -
ok so say if it expires on 25th Jan.
Do i simply buy it on quidco/AA site on 26th Jan, as a NEW customer.... ?0 -

Yes make sure u tell them to not renew as they do auto renewal. Also probably not worth buying parts cover as someone on mse posted, a part on their car failed and AA rejected the claim as say it's wear and tear.0 -
ok ill call them and tell them not to auto renew.
parts cover: i used it last year, they paid up, ive had a few electrical faults that should be covered if they break down again. I think its worth it for my car. Yes i do believe it can be a nightmare with their little loopholes to get out of not paying, i just need to make sure i do a full service on the car.
cheers.
http://www.quidco.com/insurance-finance/insurance/breakdown/aa-uk-breakdown/
it says £60 cashback for purchases over £100
but at bottom with specific deal, it says £50 cashback (this deal is well over £100)0 -
recieved a renewal quote from aa breakdown, £325!
yeah ive told them to not auto renew. I hope its not flagged up when i try to buy cover the day after my current one expires.0 -
Aviva are doing £70 cashback, which I've just made use of. They were only £20 more than the best Moneysupermarket quote, so I've saved £50! That's made it £70 cheaper than my renewal :A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things.
