Thank you!! Thank you!! :j :j :j It worked!! Followed Tom's instructions then when I tried to install Kaspersky again from my new CD I got a different error message telling me a Dell Support Centre update was currently being installed and gave me the option of waiting or cancelling!!

Finally I knew what was causing the problem and managed to cancel it & install Kaspersky. It's now up and running and I've managed to install my overdue Windows updates etc which kept failing!!

Unfortunately my main problem was that I wasn't sure what was being installed which was quite worrying as I had no AV running at the time!! Thanks for trying though!! :A

I knew my MSE buddies would help me out!! Thanks again everyone for your help & support!! :beer:
