Well another week has been survived and i find myself at Friday again. Will have a busy week next week and away next weekend on camp, so i have to get ahead with planning.

Things not so good on some matters, and probably the less said the better really. I hope to resolve some things this weekend, but we will see.

Spends have been rather good this week.

    Total for dinners=£0
Entertainment budget has been £8 for two rounds of drinks at pub quiz:mad: Someone bought DD and I a round of drinks, we didn't ask but felt obliged to reciprocate otherwise it would have been £2.70:o

I won't be going next week so that will be £0 as well leaving me with a total of £42 left in entertainment budget.

Petrol has been £38 i have half a tank left, and have no intention of driving anywhere much over the weekend so hopefully it will stretch to next week. Was a tad mad when i got home as Mr.B asked to borrow the car as he had forgotten to post his fathers birthday card. If you knew where he worked you would understand:cool: He has been off today as his due day off. When i asked was there something wrong with his legs today, well it became a whole paddy. The post office and shops are literally around the corner so not a lot of effort involved. I find that attitude lazy and a waste of petrol.

This weekend i plan to clear the head and get out walking in local countryside so that should be fun. I am still trying to break in new boots and i suspect it will take a bit.

I am compiling an online list for shopping next week and have plans to call in at local farm shops to replenish veg.

Need to buy a couple of pints of milk and otherwise that will be it.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

I never thought I'd need a dictionary to come on here!

You do, even if it's just to find the fifth obscure meaning of a nominally common word. Bob is a bad one for whipping those out and slipping them in.

fin de siecle - presumably you mean the end of a period of civilisation (I've just looked it up :D )

    Yep...

Are we heading into the dark ages?

    Not necessarily.

If you assume la Belle Époque for the Austro-Hungarian Empire to be from approx 1870-1910, with the remaining few years (before WWI) having the smell of Fin de Sieclè (but still being a bit of a ball). Then of course in 1918, it ceased to exist entirely, but the world didn't enter the dark ages. It was just a bit of a implode and big bang event for central europe.

Of course although they went out with a bit of a bang, hopefully we shall go with more of a whimper. Even then, that may not be "Dave's" choice to make.

It's unlikely we will be entering the dark ages. Not impossible, just unlikely.
