You're not thick, he just uses big words sometimes.
Big words like what? I think the longest word I use is "Bullshitterist".He says he's not a lecturer but I'm not so sure
Was I wearing brown cordoroys when you saw me?(Maybe he's the Stig!)
I'm the other side of the partnership - the Dump.our lecturers use words like Durkheimian Hegemony and Contextual Milleu. I thought the last one was a dessert with meringue in it, bit like Eton Mess but more biscuity.
No, Durkheimian Hegemony is when you shape your privet to be too tall so your garden ends up dark and murky.
Contextual Milleu is when a whole bunch of people send misleading SMS to one another until no one knows what's going on.B
(Can you tell I'm half way through a 3000 worder - I am truly becoming hysterical [as in unbalanced, not funny] and a bit mad!)
I don't need an excuse.Durkheimian Hegemony is something about keeping things the same, the power in the same hands I think. The system decides your fate not you. A bit like saying to people, lets have a localism bill so you can decide local things and then saying to them but I'm deciding you're going to have nuclear waste dumped round the corner!
We know that as "brown envelopes" round here...savingwannabe wrote: »Popper was interesting too but i was 20at the time.
Madonna had a similar opinion. In fact she even went so far as to write a song: Popper don't Preach."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I think everyone knows someone who did my course. I worked a polling station at the referendum and the other presiding officer had done my course. Only about 600 words left. On Fatima Mansions now, an estate in Dublin, and the west end of Newcastle, a bit of a regeneration disaster.
20 mins left before this is classified as a late night so I'd better crack on!

I don't think the film spells it...
However, no writing down !!!!!! Van Dycke's "cockney" accent..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Report (not essay!) is up to 2000 words, only another 1000 left and i have a structure. I also have to hand this in tomorrow AND do a presentation so have to be ready but not have a late night. Could be tricky!

So much of this thread is just words to me today.....hedge-WHAT?!
Long words though? I can do those - have ANTIDISESTABLISHMENTARIANISM for a start. My Dad taught me to spell that when I was about 7 'cos he thought it was hilarious! Mum tried to teach me that place in Wales - you know, Llanfair....etc. She didn't get very far with the spelling, but I can still reel it off as a party-piece!
