I read it is well SW- i love the comments on the articles sometimes, really makes me laugh. :)

    Thanks SW.

I think you'll like this BOB and SW. These are two quotes I'm putting up for my presentation on Global Warming this week FROM THE SAME MAN.

Michael Hanlon in 2000 in The Daily Mail.

'Global warming is a great story. As a formula, it is hard to beat: disaster, floods, middle-class greed, dollops of guilt, angst at our shiny cars and meretricious prosperity, hair-rending guilt that we are raping the planet. Like the Romans, we believe the gods will punish us for our naughtiness with thunderbolts and storms, fire and ice'.

Michael Hanlon in 2010 in The Daily Mail.

'The crack in the roof of the world: Yes, global warming is real - and deeply worrying'.

I love that he's down as one of my believers AND one of my sceptics!

It reminds me of a friends mum who had to go back to be 'cleansed' after giving birth to her son. She was a nurse and was so unimpressed with that she didn't go to church for about 20 years....and she was one of the 10% of your income brigade so it was a really bad idea to p**s her off.

Religion essentially isn't about believing in God - otherwise the Bible would consist of 3 words "Believe in God". Most religions are about disease control. Hence the prohibition on male (but not female) homosexuality, promiscuous hetrosexual sex, not eating "unclean" meats like pork (due to parasites),various purification rituals after having touched something unclean, even down the Dead Sea Scrolls prescribing at least a 1000 cubit seperation between your settlement and your toilet (cholera).

Pasteur drove one stake into religion, and Fleming drove another.
Do you guys think interest rates will go up next month?

I would doubt it. Any rise in interest rates should be heralded with a bit more showmanship than has been so far.
Not sure about interest rates- they really need to put petrol prices down- especially as the oil price is now lower. The government are greedy like Prince John, constantly robbing and taxing ( i am not sure of the difference at times)

King John lost his gold in The Wash. Gordon Brown sold "our" gold off at record low prices.

At least we still have the opportunity to get King John's back...

SW,They will try to delay putting up interest rates for as long as possible. May happen October / November time, maybe later. Don't know whether you want to hear this. Housing prices are still too high and should have corrected more when the crash happened. They haven't because we've flat-lined the interest rates. So in my view (and a few economists!) as soon as they start putting them up, house prices will dip again as another round of repossessions take place.

So, end of the year I think.

    B

That's pretty much my thoughts too. And then they'll put them down again.

Thunderbolts and lightning, very very frightning!

    There's loads like that:

"The effects of a new ice age on agriculture and the supportability of large human populations scarcely need elaboration here. Even more dramatic results are possible, however; for instance, a sudden outward slumping in the Antarctic ice cap, induced by added weight, could generate a tidal wave of proportions unprecedented in recorded history." -- John Holdren & Paul Ehrlich - Global Ecology

“The population of the U.S. will shrink from 250 million to about 22.5 million before 1999 because of famine and global warming.” -- Paul Ehrlich, author Healing the Planet.

At least "Rapture Man" is consistent in how we're all gonna die - even if equally wrong.
