And this is where we find out "downstairs" is a euphemism for "under the patio"...

:rotfl::rotfl: Ahh, he isn't at patio level this week..he managed to redeem himself, by helping out a friend.:D

  • Today will be a spend day- as it is my Grandma's 95th birthday :)

We are taking her out for a meal to celebrate and a pressie.

Not a lot else going on today except housework and the usual Saturday stuff.

Hope you have a good day- Bob x

    Morning,

I so know what you mean about being pinged back by knicker elastic - although not literally :D

Hope you all have a good day too -
    xx
  • Grandma had a lovely time :)

I must admit though that it did cost a bit more than i thought-simply because at her age, she wants nothing more than cigs as a pressie for her birthday. Mum had asked me to get some as well..i nearly fainted when i bought them...£6.70 per pack of 20- i bought 80. Then we paid for meal and drinks, so was an expensive day. Mum is going to give me her money back though and in all honesty it will be fine as the money has come out of rent money from DS. So bank account not been touched. ( I am adopting a system similar to envelopes, so i know what i have in different pots- if that makes sense?) Rent in one, groceries in another, car in another..etc. So far this year it is working and i don't need to keep taking money out..if only Mr.B would adopt the same system.

It was payday yesterday as well :) I am up a little on what i expected as both jobs paid out yesterday. The pension money has still not been paid back, however, i have had a tax rebate. The pension will pay for my car tax due in April- so it is maybe better off being paid later.
Just have to put aside money for MOT and service, which will be £50 per month until end of April.

Budget is looking pretty decent at the moment then.

  • Managed to get out walking today-as it is the first walk i have had for ages, i am absolutely cream crackered.:D

Made a very frugal tea of Shepherds pie, then used up some apples that were in the fridge( aldi specials) to make an apple crumble and custard..not very slimming but extremely tasty:o

Today was no spends so all good there.

Mr.B is getting into his stride a little and it is nice to see him smiling and looking less strained ( helps when i don't nag him as well)

Just playing around with my SOA and putting in different figures to see if i can justify the Sky subscription.:o I am not convinced although on paper we can afford it, i would just rather it came off something else.:o

Will give it a month then see.

Hope everyone else has had a nice day.

    Bob x

  • Survived Monday- so not bad. I hate Monday's don't know why, but there it is.

Spends today was through a shop in Aldi- came to £28- spent a little more than intended due to Aldi super 6 offers, i bought three massive Butternut squashes, so should get plenty of meals out of those, as well as the veg. Organic chicken, Flour and eggs. Then general groceries and few toiletries.
    Mortgage payment went out today.

Just finishing paperwork then i can put my feet up for the evening.

    So an expensive Monday.

Do Aldis do organic chicken then...will have to check ours. How much are they as I only buy organic chicken and it would be great if they sell them?
  • No, they don't Taxi- they do Free range chickens- I had actually bought an organic chicken elsewhere and then popped into Aldi for the rest :( Sorry for misleading there. I must say though, that the Free Range ones are a decent size and price.

I paid just under £8 for an organic chicken at farm shop and there is plenty left over for sandwiches and soup.
