Hey elantan sorry that you are having problems with your mum. Some times you have to do what is right for you and break the bounds that tie you. I have a 'difficult' relationship with my dad. I try and maintain it for the kids (they are his only grand children), but you know what I don't think he really gives a toss about them either....

i think the saying you can choose your friends but not your family has deff got some sarcastic ring to it lol .... then i love the saying friends are they family we choose for ourselves ... i find for me this one to be more true tbh ... hence why i have much more time for people on mse than i do my own blood relatives lol

sorry to hear you're having problems with your mum..I haven't dealt with mine for years and never will again

In all honesty a lot of it is from unresolved issues i have as well. She is totally oblivious to how she says things and has re created the past to suit her current life.:o

So whilst we are still living with events which occurred years ago- then she carries blithely on.

She honestly has no idea, and that is the bit i find the most difficult to deal with. I have confronted her and she just acts dumb-or apologizes but in a way which is meant to humour me ( if that makes sense) However she will pick me up on the slightest thing, so i play her at her own game- it makes for a very frustrating life at times.:o

  • Bob and everyone remember onwards and upwards. Have a good'un. Goodnight. Mr Z many thanks for help. You are a very helpful undertaker:D.

A saying a usually live by- i am not down about it at all, just weirded out by a few things.

Today has been a good day though.:D

  • Well today i am buying some skimmed milk as we have used a lot of milk for porridge lately. So that will round off my challenge nicely for this month. Just under.:D
I have also had a couple of meals at School as there was no option- so that is £4 on my personal spends. All well within budget though.

I now have built up a pot for my savings and they stand at a nice sum- Thank you very much..yes, i could put it off my debt, however i need some as emergency monies and i am frightened not to have it. Far better than an overdraft.:D

This next month sees that deplete a bit as i have MOT, Service, and Tax to pay for car..always something eh? I am hoping to service the car the month after, but it really needs doing.I have the cash to hand so all is good there.

Another overpayment of one card by £50 last evening- seeing balances reduce nicely. So despite a lot of birthdays and a couple of emergency things, i can say that the month has been a successful one budgeting wise.

    Bring on April.:D

  • I also forgot to say that the insurance company which refunded my payment have offered me a further 3 months free life insurance..not to shabby eh? :)

Which will be handy if you're planning to kick the bucket some time within the next 90 days...

Please do not kick the bucket and jolly well done on finances. I had a spend day today and purchased two packs of kettle crisps. If i moan that i am putting on weight remind me of this ok!

Mr Z kids rather excited that someone who thinks outside the box has given them 'alternative websites' and next week they will use a bit of revision time to explore alternative views of government spending plans and the budget, and why the bankers were really bailed out. Blooming freezing here. Walked home. Shivering. Time for some tea.

Bob, sorry you've been going through it with your mum .... I made a resolve to be more myself within the family, and not putting up with stuff has rather made me look like the bad guy at the moment .... I might ease off a bit, in fact I certainly will for this wedding coming up, but it is *so* difficult.

People are making you out to be the bad guy as previously you'd buckle under the guilty feelings from that and do what they want you to do.

Poor dears are probably traumatised you're no longer so manipulatable...
