Well no, you're not doing it for entertainment, but for necessity.

And there speaks the North-South divide...

I'm lucky in that both my parents are normal and well-adjusted. Well plus or minus:- consider who they have as a son...

Bad mothers are a real trial. Elantan sorted hers out in a *very* sorted out way, recently...

I know about El's mother good for her. I did do something similar a few years back. I allowed her back into my life, because of a few things really, one of which was that the kids missed her and do think a lot of her. I am not one to influence them as i always believed we make our own minds up and they benefit from it as she has been there for them. So i have to step back from that, and just concentrate on my relationship with her. They are grown up now, so if i fall out i will do so on my own terms and yes, it will have an effect, but not one that they should feel a conflict about.

Bob - no patio here but am a whizz with a spade - chin up chicken & try not to waste energy on negative peeps. I've recently put some of my rellies on a quarterly rather than monthly visiting plan - much better ;)

I am thinking half yearly:D I can cope with that..:rotfl:

Bob Sometimes people evoke a really strong reaction in us. Sometimes they don't even have to do anything. I can't join the batty mothers group but I do have a father who can create an argument in an empty room!my mother has a habit of recreating the past with rosy colours and a completely different version of events. Amazing really when i consider the implications of what happened at the time. Oh and i got the- 'Isnt that right' confirmation required off her, in front of her new fella-wouldn't want anything to taint that relationship..

Just ask if a closed leading question needs any reply. It usually doesn't.
