What I do for birthdays etc is ring a florist in the area where they are to be sent. For me it works out a lot cheaper

definitely this - just google florists in whichever town your friend is from, then call them.

not to mention that a lot of hospitals dont allow flowers now!
Really? That's funny! Do you know why?

I would also second Next - but why not wait for a couple of weeks when any she's just been bought have died & been chucked out and she may be feeling a bit neglected after all the fuss of a new-born has settled....yours will be very well received ;)
  • Thanks again. I've heard that hospitals are a bit funny these days about flowers. I've heard from her husband and mum and baby are leaving hospital in the morning so I'll have them sent to her house.

    infection control.
bacteria grows in the water etc.
  • Hi, I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who posted on here. I phoned up a florist who was local to my friend and they were able to do some incredibly beautiful flowers for the same day and because it was on the florist's way home she didn't charge me for delivery. I spent about the same amount of money that I would have done ordering online but it was a far better quality and much better value for money!

    Also allergies/hay fever etc.
