Recommendation wanted for next day florist

I want to get some flowers sent to a friend who has just given birth to a little baby boy.

I've never bought flowers by post but she lives quite far away and I know that I won't have time to visit for a couple of months so I would be very grateful for any advice on good companies that do reasonably affordable flowers.

Thanks in advance

What I do for birthdays etc is ring a florist in the area where they are to be sent. For me it works out a lot cheaper

  • I would do that too, ask her husband/partner/parents what florist they use, then at least you'll know they trust the quality.

  • I was just about to suggest the same as jackie and nunny.

Find a local florist, then at least you'll know for sure that it won't get delayed in the post.

I find local florists are usually of a far superior quality to national companies - and cheaper usually too!

  • I always use http://www.flowersdirect.co.uk/?af=22 . Never been disappointed. And they are on Quidco.
  • ive used next flowers before and they are always gorgeous and reasonably well priced.
  • John Lewis flowers are lovely. Don't worry about next day delivery, it is lovely to get a staggered amount of gifts. I would worry more about having the arrangement either sent in a vase ready to display, or in its own water pouch, so they aren't in immediate pressure to find a vase and water them.
  • Oh and send them to her house, a lot of people are funny about bringing flowers home from hospital because of germs ;)
