You will be able to use it in Cash Machines to withdraw cash and in shops, online or via the telephone where Visa Debit is accepted which is anywhere that takes card payments.
When using your card in shops you input your PIN and then it checks with the bank automatically to see if you have the money. If you do, purchase complete if not purchase declines.
Same for online or telephone purchases, of course you don't use your PIN for this.David
