Is tracking part of the MOT
Mine is out, the steering wheel is over to the right to keep the car straight, however, when I said I would get it fixed, the Nissan dealers said that there was no point unless I got the bushings fixed at £290 as this would put the tracking out again. However, I havent got £290 at the moment and the MOT is due at the end of the month

Wheel alignment is not part of the test
However they will check the condition of the tyre walls, and if they notice the tracking is out they may issue an advisoryIf Adam and Eve were created first

What bushings? That could fail it.0 -
As Rossy has said it could be the tyres that cause you probs. If the tracking is obscenely out then the tread could be practically gone on one side of the tyre but fine on the other side.0

Ive no idea, it was on the service and I was told that its an advisory and that if it was bad enough to need changing i would hear knocking, which I havent, so thats why Im leaving it a bit.
during the service the front tyres had no advisory so hopefull their tread is fine0 -

Have a look before you go, no point paying if there's an obvious defect on the tyre.0 -

As Gene says have a check yourself for any obvious problems, it's very easy to do.0 -
ive only driven it down to the shops (less than a mile) once since the service, it then sat on the drive for nearly a month. its at the garage now so i cant check anything0

Struggling to think what bushes could cause the tracking to be out. Normally bushes are in the wishbones and cause movement of the suspension - possible MOT failure. Also bushes could be in the link bars or anti roll bars. If its any of those, they dont cost anywhere near £290.
Id be tempted to go to one of these tyre places and ask for them to check your tracking. Usually only costs 20quid and they can sort it out.0 -

If the bushes on the track rod ends are worn, it will allow extra play and then put the tracking outIf Adam and Eve were created first
