Online Prize Draws/Competition sites, good or bad idea?

Getting something for nothing is always nice, especially in the current climate. So i was searching the web for competitions to win a specifc item, most of which are now closed. However, i discovered one site which had something running. But before i enter, ive decided to do some digging, which hasnt lead to much info.

Now most competitions are straight forward, enter your details etc, and chances are, they are from reputable names or companies. The site ive come across however, is more like a prizes site, or competition site where they just promote and do competitions.

Id like to know if anyone has had any good or bad experiences, or is there any reputable sites out there.

I simply dont feel comfortable just giving out my details. Spam i can handle, ID fraud i cant!

Try setting up another Email account for such things so if you do get spam you do not get it to your main email address.

If such sites are high up in Google then they are not usually out to scam people as they would have been reported and Google would have kicked them out of their index.
