I had a big spend weekend. But It still wasnt nearly as bad as it used to be. It was mostly unexpected things, the trainers that became essential for the 10K (£40 junior trainers, Yay for small feet!); hospital car parking for an A&E trip, food for the 3 and half hours we were waiting there. A take-away to celebrate my 10K time.
When I ran the womens 10K in 2007 my time wasn't great. This time??
1hour 09mins 44secs!!
For those that don't know the significance of this, that is 10minutes off my previous time and definitely a personal best. I feel proud. Can we pretend that aeroplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars, cause I could really use a wish right now...0 -
Absolutely fantastic!! It is amazing when you get such a big difference in times isn't it!? A real motivator :TSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

I haven't been writing much here. Partly because I've gone off the rails a bit and I'm struggling.
I've been having more of a life but I've lost track of the balance. I've been too generous with helping people out, paying for things for others before me. I've just lost track a bit.
I know that there is some money coming and that my situation isn't dire but I'm still not doing too great this month.
Pay day tomorrow and another chance to sort myself out again. I want to get selling again because that was actually quite fun.
I've been an emotional mess, keeping control of my money hasn't seemed so important.
Ok, pick myself up and try again. Can we pretend that aeroplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars, cause I could really use a wish right now...0 -
Sorry to hear things have gone wrong for you on the emotional side, as well as the money stuff.

I've disappeared from my own thread for a month through shame. My debt has gotten worse, not better.
I finish up work here for good on Friday and I don't have another job to go to. I am almost certainly going to go freelance but that scares the living daylights out of me. I'm not ready, profesionally, for that.
My head is still above water, I have a roof over my head and plenty of food to eat. My extra money hasn't really been spent on me much, I'm a victim of my own generosity but I don't regret that at all.
Anyway, I'm still kicking around on other threads and I'm sure I'll sort myself out in the end. I know what I should do but right now, I don't want to be that strict, life is too short.

Welcome back! Are you applying for benefits? Be sure to apply quickly as I don't think they backdate. And you'll be expected to live on your last salary until your next paydate would have been. Because of PILON (pay in lieu of notice) I won't be able to apply for job seekers or anything until August when I am no longer in my notice period.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do because I am wanting to set up as self employed. I am going to be checking with both the benefits people and business gateway to make sure that I'm not missing out on anything I am entitled to. That kind of becomes my new full-time job after Monday.
I got a very small bonus at work that will cover the price of my passport this month (just less than passport cost). That might help with some of my opportunities and also help me feel less land-locked.Can we pretend that aeroplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars, cause I could really use a wish right now...0 -

I've got a new job!!!
I start on Monday. Thank goodness, only 2 weeks between jobs. My redundancy will pay off my debts (excluding mortgage) with a bit to spare for savings. This job is not permanent but definite until March, by then I'll have all of my Sign Language qualifications and can start interpreting for real. And the best part? My new job is using my old knowledge from science in the field of Deafness and interpreting. Yay!!Can we pretend that aeroplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars, cause I could really use a wish right now...0
