New York Bargain Flights in April 2011

Hi Everyone,

I was hoping to find out if anyone had come across any amazing deals on flights to New York during the April bank holiday period?

I have booked off the 26th, 27th and 28th of April to get the 11 day break so hoping to go for 5 nights at some point over this break.

Really hoping to find a bargain so any help would be much appreciated.

exactly what constitutes a bargain?

some people might think that £600.00 for that time of year a bargain, others might think £300.00 is a bargain.

I was thinking a bargain would be in the region of £400...the cheapest i have found so far is about £459

not sure exactly what dates you can travel, but if you go 26/4 - 01/05 (all over easter holidays & may day bank holiday, and royal wedding), you have:

26/04 dep london 1600 arrive Newark 1840
01/05 dep newark 0800 arrive london 2000
Virgin flights - £390.00 per person incl taxes.

26/04 dep london 1005 arr JFK 1310
01/05 dep JFK 1825 arr london 0705 (02/05)
Delta / KLM £410.00 per person.

If you want a pointer, go for the Virgin flights.

ebookers.com have direct return flights on the same dates for £372 each. They are "KLM" flights although it is a codeshare, the flight is actually a Delta one.

If you want some advice, I'm not sure if these sorts of prices will be available by the end of the month. Early January is traditionally a big sale time for airlines. I searched using Kayak.co.uk and fares were changing as I was searching. Ebookers reckon only 3 seats left at that price.
