Boots Pharmacy policy?

  • Definitely not Boots policy IMO, I often go in to get up to 5 prescriptions for various members of my family at a time. Out of those 2 pay and the rest are free and they all go into the pile to be done in order of arrival. In fact our local Boots often doesn't check if it's "a pay for" or free script until they've got it ready for you.

It seems to me to be the age old situation, similar to chinese whispers. Someone gets told something and then it mysteriously gets changed to something completely different !
I see it most days in my shop. I arrange a callout to a customers fire. The engineer goes out and fits, something like a thermocouple, which cuts the fire off if it in effect faulty ( a safety cut off in effect)

The consumer then turns around and says that the engineer said the fire was dangerous and I should get it swapped or ask for a refund. It has happened so many times I now ring the manufacturer up and put them on speaker phone and ask them to read back the visit report, by the engineer. This usually ends with the colour draining from the consumers face, when it is found out that they were lying, the engineer didnt say anything. The thermocouple was faulty, so it goes into emergency cut off mode, so never any danger.

People read what is said to them , to suit themselves or to fit their argument, end of

Early on in this thread, I queried the wording the OP used:

I'm a little confused about your post and this allegation as you firstly say what you heard:
I couldn't believe the reply which was that It would be awhile as People who pay for their prescriptions go before the ones who get them free.

and then you say you were 'led to believe':
What I was led to believe is that if you were for example elderly and therefore receive free prescriptions and you were waiting for your prescription and 4 other people came in with prescriptions who pay for them, then these 4 people will be served first before you!!!!

Saying 'led to believe' doesn't to me sound like this is what the OP was told.

Although the OP isn't a regular poster, I'd be surprised if he/she hasn't been back to read other people's opinions on the situation as described.

I think the OP HAS done that and thought 'Oooops! I got the wrong end of the stick'.
