I didn't say the attitude was deserved, just that it's the type of car that will, rightly or wrongly, attract more attention than something like an Astra estate for example.
It's in the same category as a Saxo VTR or similar, just the type of car that tends to be thrashed around by young boys and therefore gets noticed by the police rather than just slipping under the radar.
I'm not saying it's right, just saying that some cars attract more police attention than others.0 -

Sorry, I wasn't moaning at you, I do agree
Never had a problem with previous 206's though.. This is my 3rd. Oh well, hopefully it won't be a regular thing.9/70lbs to lose0 -
This is why I drive an obscure import that looks like an old minicab despite being based on the Skyline. Too much hassle in my old Subaru (from both police and criminals)
It's kind of sad that some police think it's acceptable to be rude before there is any evidence of wrongdoing, based purely on someone's appearance though*. They should be setting an example of civilised and respectable behaviour.
* Didn't they get into a lot of trouble for that in the 80s?0 -
Reminds me of an amusing story someone posted on SXOC.
So the Renault Clio he is in gets pulled over, the copper walks up to the offside of the car, opens the door and he stinks of beer and is clearly drunk. He pulls the door open and the guy falls out onto the floor and the copper starts to give him a bollocking, f-ing and blinding about how he has an f---ing wife and kid in the car what the f--- do you think you're doing. They take him to the police car and breathalyse him, he's way over the limit and they decide to arrest him.
They take down the details of the car and only then do they notice it's a French numberplate and therefore left hand drive.
Suddenly he sobers up and demands that they get their facts straight before making accusations and apologise for swearing within earshot of his 4yr old child.
Yeah of course it is true, you read it on the internet.0 -
I'd believe the story if not for the fact that the Police always run a plates check before stopping a vehicle“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
