Poo in my peas?

I think your experience to others is not to give the store the benefit of the doubt and go straight to trading standards with something like this. I don't feel Tesco did enough here i cant understand why they did not send it recorded or special delivery. Shame on you Tesco.0

That's pretty bad handling- if Tesco/Royal Mail/Bird Eye have lost the sample then they should really give you the benefit of the doubt and treat your claim as if it was indeed excrement of some kind. £10 compensation for contaminated food seems laughable! Get back on to Birds Eye and threaten to escalate (eg Media)0

You got poo and we got a caterpiller last year - mine was Birds Eye too.
I called them up and they sent me a little specimen pot to put the caterpiller in. The man on the end of the phone was extremely nice and thanked me for not shouting at him (as if). He also asked if it was definately a caterpiller and my reply was yes I can see his legs and he has a frozen smile on his face.
I also got the 2x £5.00 vouchers although my first letter arrived without them!0 -
Ironcally, I cannot pooh without peeing.:rotfl:S!!!!horpe0

Hi
As a student I used to work for a firm that washed and repackaged dried fruit and some of the low grade stuff had loads of rat poo in it, dead lizards, dead mice, fruit flies etc etc etc etc etc etc etc and on the belt would be women picking the "bad" bits out. Obviously they could not pick everything out. Best avoid pre-prepared foods like tinned curries as the low grade stuff goes in this.
So, even though you do not know it - I suppose most people will have eaten some poo of some description over the years totally obliviously.0 -

No refund given she did ask me if I wanted another packet of peas and I said no. She then suggested that I wait to hear from the supplier.0 -

I would always give this advice. I once found an insect in a box of farleys powdered baby meal. I returned it to Farleys only to receive a patronising letter as good as blaming me for the offending article! It couldn't have been them, etc, it was probably my poxy hygiene. Result, I received a coupon for a free replacement box, which I ripped up and placed in the bin. I will never again buy anymore of their products.0 -
I have just read this thread and was about to post my advice until I realised I was a couple of months too late, lol.
NEVER EVER hand over the 'poo in the peas' or whatever thing you find in your food to the store. Contact the manufacturer directly (in this case Birds Eye) and they sometimes send someone around to the house.
Failing this, you can send it to them, by Special/Recorded delivery so you KNOW they have the 'poo' and can't fob you off.
Obviously, you have had your compensation from them (if you can call it that), but just a bit of advice to save for the future.0 -

Wish I'd known that when I was walking to my car under the Tyne bridge at 8am and the inside of my glasses suddenly went white.
 :eek:Just for one moment, thought I'd found my way.0
