Sport Soccer No Refund

Credit notes only, is this legal ?

Bought an item, DP couldn't try it on as their changing rooms were full of stock  they don't do them any bigger so couldn't get exchange. Wasn't a lot of money but really  annoyed me.
One day I might be more organised...........

Perfectly legal. They do not have to give a refund.
If the goods were faulty then it will be another matter and they would have to refund - are you sure the stitching has not come undone somewhere?

Already forced had accept the credit voucher, but shesaid even if they were damaged it's store policy to never refund anything. Wish haddn't listened to the assistant who said to just take them away and try them on and bring back if they didn't fit because they had no space to open the changing rooms. Would have been ok if they did another size which might have fit.

I hate shopping in the shop. It's full of really thick assistants that know and care nothing about their product or service.

Unfortunately, they have about the lowest sports wear prices around, so we end up going there like this morning.

Stand in the middle of the store, get a load of air in your lungs, and at the top of your voice shout SALE OF GOODS ACT

They're acting within the Sales of Goods Act. The OP should have "made" the item faulty for a refund.

In the words of Andy "YEAH I KNOW!!!!"
I would have still got in an argument when she told me it was company policy not to refund EVEN if they were damaged.
  • Whilst the store have done nothing wrong, surely if the changing rooms were unavailable this should have been rectified.

Isnt that the whole point shops have a changing room and will only give a credit note?

Sportsworld are the scummiest shop around and completely void of decent customer service in my view. So having no changing rooms available doesn't surprise me in the least somehow.

We were in Sportsworld this morning and the sales assistant seemed to have no idea at all what a running trainer is. Luckily we went to Brantano and found what we wanted there...and it was cheaper.

I would have called for the manager and made a right scene if that hapened to me (if the goods were faulty, that is).

Have to say though that the Sportsworld where I live does a good job of complying with the SoGA and even has an abridged version of it at their tills. I think this is more likely a case of a poorly trained assistant / manager or them having a rather bad day.
Don't bother trying to sue me - I've got no money!

the problem i have with sport soccer is they only offer credit notes as a refund, the assistants are not cheerful, they only have 1 till open(they have a measly max of 2 tills)
