Broadband, tv, phone advice please

Hi there please advise!
We are with ntl and have been for years. 10mg broadband 34.99 per month and talk unlimited, mobile call plan as well as base pack tv. All this is costing a fortune. I rang a few months ago and arranged a better deal but it only showed up on our bill for one month then we went back to previous price. I have never been able to speak to the same person twice, no details of my call etc and all in all am totally confused by their billing.
We are planning a move but where?! We left bt previously but are thinking of returning to them. I will ring ntl retentions again on monday and have another go but don't hold up much hope as they made a total mess of it before. Everyone on this board is so helpful I would be glad of your advice please. Thank you.
