Nokia 6303i - downloading photo to computer?
I have recently bought a Nokia 6303i mobile 'phone. It's the first mobile with a camera facility that I've had. A friend has sent me a photo, which has automatically been stored in the "gallery". I want to be able to download this image to my computer, but I can't find any mention in the user guide about how to do this. I've searched all the options on the 'phone and still can't find an option to download to my computer. I was hoping it was going to be as simple as connecting the USB cable, but it would appear not! Please help!

You need PC Suite. Free download from Nokia website.0

Sorry, I don't understand. By the way the pictures were sent by Bluetooth (whatever that is!), don't know if that makes a difference. You may have gathered I'm not very technical

You need to connect your phone to the PC. At the PC end, you need software that recognises the phone and that you can extract/copy files from the phone to the PC.
I am assuming that your PC does not have Bluetooth, so there needs to be a way for your PC to communicate with your phone, much in the same way as it would do if you were trying to download pictures from a camera.
The software in question is the Nokia PC Suite. You would also need the correct cable too.
It is too involved to be solved on a forum, I suspect, but if you have the right cable and any reasonably computer-literate friend you can call on, then tell them you need to download/install the Nokia PC suite on your PC and they should be able to do that in 10 minutes and show you how to transfer your picture.
Failing that, if you know someone nearby who has a mobile phone and a way of connecting it to their PC, Bluetooth them the picture and get them to send it to you as an attachment in an email.0 -
You don't need any special software. Just connect the USB cable, the phone will ask how to connect (select Storage) wait for your computer to detect the phone.
Your phone will now appear as a drive attached to your computer, you can just copy the photo across. In fact depending how you have set up your PC it may automatically import the photos/videos/music stored on your phone.
(By the way Download is the wrong word)0 -

When I attach the USB cable and select "date storage", a Nokia Ovi Suite box appears with lots of options. One of the options is "copy pictures to a folder on my computer", which when selected does not see the photos that are on my 'phones "photos" folder. I was wondering if this is because they were sent by Bluetooth (as I say, I'm afraid I don't know whether or not that would make a difference).0 -

You may be right about not needing PC suite - I just found it easier and it works with all cheap Nokias.
On the point of whether or not "download" is the correct terminology for transferring pictures from a mobile or camera to a PC, Microsoft might not agree with you. See http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/takeit/transfer.mspx0
