Car Warranty for a Renault Scenic

Hi, I know this topic has probably been done to death, but can anyone recommend a reliable warranty policy for a 2005 Reanult Scenic? We have usually just had our cars repaired as and when, and have found a good independant garage specialising in Renaults, but this year our car has been one headache after another. Altogether it has cost us about £1800 this year, just keeping it on the road. OH needs the car for work, so it's vital that it's functioning majority of the time.
So I started thinking about getting a warranty. Obviously I'm a bit nervous about them trying to fob us off at the point of claim, but if we have another year of bills the way the last year has been, it would be worth it if even some of them are covered!
Anyone have any good reports of any of the warranty companies?

Mostly a waste of money, They exclude wear and tear which could be virtually everything.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0

It's a Renault, just replace it with a decent make of car.0

I appreciate that Renault's are not considered the best and have a bit of a reputation, but we bought it because of the features it offers, so for us it was the right choice of car & model for what we need. Can't sell, and actually do love the car, so will need to repair if necessary. Any more constructive advice or recommendations of warranties would be appreciated!0

Although I'm a Renault owner with no issues whatsoever, I have to say with those sort of repair bills I'd have got shut.
What was done?, the car may now be fine and trouble free for years. Was it breakdown stuff or brakes suspension wear etc?
Waranty for older cars? I wouldn't if only because it's just another insurance and will be weighted in favour of the insurer.
There are so many exclusions and then the ensuing horror stories about claims that it puts me off.
Get a good reliable local garage lined up rather than lining the main dealers pockets, (if that's the case).I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

We've had a lot of issues around the air conditioning, which wouldn't have been covered by a warranty, tyres (again, wouldn't have been covered), shock absorbers, and the window clips/motors, which we knew were a problem on our model, but Renault quote £180ish per window (not that we had them all fixed - the back ones we just don't open any more!). Can't remember what else - it just seemed to be one thing after another!0

Well if you are prepared to suffer a vehicle with so many faults, good for you, I would have got shot of it a long time ago.
Most after market warranties have more small print than large print, to be blunt, most are not worth the paper that they are printed on.0 -

Too be honest you can live without it
As you realise, just normal wear and tear
Again dependant on driving and road type, mileage etc not unusual at that age
Renault did have a problem with them, so much so that they extened to waranty to 4 years for the motors, but not much good to you now.
Taking out the expected or the likely and considering you've gone back to Renault it's not quite as bad as you initially indicated. Again forget the waranty even if you claim you will still probably spend more on insurance than repairs, and you still have to cover wear and tear items.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

You would be better off getting a local garage to repair it than renault.
He big problem is you are paying too much for stuff that does not need the main dealer to do.0
