Do You not have the facility in you phone LOG to see the size of data sent or received (like it is the case for phone calls duration)? Most new phones would have this available.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

Searzie you have my sympathies, but I would be hopeful that O2 will be reasonable.
One thought that may, or may not, be relevant: I thought that O2 charged for the amount of data downloaded rather than for the length of time you are connected for? I have only used phone internet briefly so I may well be wrong, but £735 would be an awful lot of data to download.
Not on GSM WAP - 15p per minute ish. It usually has an idle timeout. I wonder if it is for the 'free' internet - some people got away with free internet for ages due to a billing error, then got hit with a massive bill.

My advice would be to consider (carefully) calling your bank to have the DD reversed as it wasn't authorised by you (you didn't authorise the amount or even know of it). This will force o2 to talk to you, but will almost certainly put a massive hole in your credit rating - food at the cost of credit trouble.

Sorry there isn't a better answer.

    EDIT: doing the sums, on GSM WAP, 15 hours = 15p * 15 * 60 = £135
Certain OTT members have caused me to add this disclaimer: all advice given is free of charge & as such should be taken to be IIRC (as I don't spend hours researching all answers  )!
