Meteor/Roxburghe Parking Fine

I have just received correspondence from Roxburghe debt collectors, stating a ticket was issued to my vehicle and they are requesting a payment of £142.88. I was unaware that any ticket had been issued, and this is the first letter that i have received. Roxburghe are acting on behalf of Meteor Parking Ltd. If a ticket was issued, somebody must have removed it before i returned to my vehicle. Has anybody had any similar issues and resolved them by having the fine reset to the original sum.

  • You can easily get the amount restored to £0.00 by just ignoring them. I'm convinced these people just take down numbers at random and send them an invoice later when a lot of people just pay as they don't remember.
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.
  • Ignore it. You will receive two letters from "Graham White Solicitors", who are the same people as Roxburghe. Ignore them as well and they will give up. It's that simple.

Ignore them. It's a scam, you must not pay!

Click on the 'parking fines, tickets and parking' blue link at the top of the page (under the orange 'Banking Saving' tab) to see the whole board and at least read the stickies, if not the current threads. You'd be amazed how common your question is! There will be no effect on your credit rating, nothing happens, just threatograms, no Court, this is NOT REAL.

Absolutely do not rise to the bait, only EVER take seriously a real ticket from a Council or the Police. It is simple.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Out of interest, Meteor Parking was acquired by Vinci Park in September 2010. Vinci Park use PO Box 597, Northampton, NN4 7XN as the address to which payments should be used for various council DPE collections. This same PO Box has long been used by Car Parking Partnership together with a number of other institutions such as Bristol, Manchester Metropolitan, Bradford, York and Winchester Universities.

Vinci manage (or have recently managed) a number of hospital parking schemes such as those at Ninewells, Dundee (A PFI scheme due to last for another 18 years); Gloucester; Cheltenham; Heath Hospital, Cardiff; Bury St Edmunds; 3 hospitals in East & N Herts; Broadgreen, Liverpool (another PFI scheme); Darent Valley, Dartford (Meteor); Queens Blackburn (Meteor) and on and on.

So, the question is, does CPP (aka Liberty Printers) use Vinci Park's back office or vice versa?
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

Would you know if this is the same Meteor Parking that are/were owned by the Go-Ahead Group PLC and manage car parks at train stations in the Southeast?
  • Have you seen the terms and conditions of Meteor at rail stations? You could buy a ticket, go to read them and come back to find a ""fine"" for overstaying your time. All in the smallest font possible, I'm surprised that a magnifying glass is not provided for each sign.

But if the signage is illegible by too small a font to be read easily, the terms of the contract are unclear, so any "contract" the ppc imagines is formed by a punter parking is void imho under The Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977. Also privity may be unclear where a ppc tries to bind the world and his dog by the actions of the driver........ In any case these invoices should be ignored

I received letter from Roxburghe on the 12th Jan. Exactly the same I never had a ticket on my vehicle or any correspondence at all. I am going to follow the advice on here.

If they sent a SAE with the 'fine',why not send a sheet of toilet paper to them in return..they can use that to dry their eyes...lol
