It used to be at the half way point, but I 'think' it's changed to the last month.
  • Hi it is still half way I downgraded my 18 month iphone £45 to iphone £40 about 2 months ago. It will only be a £5 reduction but over 12 months is £60 in your pocket
  • Hi - I would like to join in this conversation too :D

I've got about 7 or 8 months left on a contract, and I wanna downgrade to cheapest possible, but the section on the Orange website says I can only change to an equivalent or more expensive plan, not a cheaper one.

How did you downgrade? Did you phone, or is there a section on their website.

    Many thanks.

    Hi Ace

Call 150 opt 1, 2, 4 and ask them to lower it. It will only go from 45 to 40 or 35 to 30 its one price point

    Cheers

  • You can downgrade your tariff just after your halfway point.

Month 9 of 18 month contract, month 13 of a 24 month contract, and if your one of the lucky ones on a 12 month contract, its month 7.

Oh.. and if you arent using all of your inclusive minutes and texts, it could be worth ringing and asking for a 'best plan' review, this review can sometimes, and i stress sometimes, lower you tariff considerably. (my wifes best plan review took her from a 35.00 per month tariff to a £22.50 per month, substantially lower than the 1 price point per time)

Unless, like me, you're on the £5/month tariff. There is no downgrade option possible, at any time during the contract. I guess when you're at the bottom, there's nowhere to go!
