When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important. :D

  • Good morning everyone, and thanks to DNMS for starting the thread. It's good to see so many people posting on here at the moment.

Work wasn't too bad yesterday and I must keep focussed on the thought that it's a short week for me this week. Tomorrow is my 'Grandma Day' (I work a 9 day fortnight) working Thursday then off on Friday for FIL's funeral in East Sussex.

    So far I have:
    • not run WM or DW as not full loads
    • made a lunch to take to work
    • checked banking
    • checked for surveys
    • fed and watered chickens
    I will also:
    • take milk out of freezer instead of buying some
    • put a small splash of diesel in the car and let DH fill up for Friday ;)
    • keep checking for surveys from work
    • knit at lunchtime so I don't go out cruising the shops
    • dinner from stores
    • stay at DD's tonight :j
Boss has asked me to have an accounts day today (usually horrible admin on Tuesdays) so I'm in a buoyant mood this morning :D

Have a good DFW day, stitchy x

  • Milly - Well done girl! One day, in the far flung future, I hope to be able to go on holiday. Josie has "take DM somewhere hot for a long weekend" on her 101 things list so I know we'll get there within the next 1001 days!!! :rotfl:

    Morning All

Hi to all new posters. Hugs to those that need them. Hope everyone feels better soon ((((hugs))))

Congrats on those who are losing weight, getting fit and not smoking

Determined, thanks for starting the thread today – I’m with you for being upbeat (love the number of smiley’s you have in your post)

    Today I have/will
    • Checked online banking – no change
    • Left purse at home so NSD
    • Check emails
    • Meals from storecupboard
    • Used my rail pass to get to work
    • Work really hard at work as there is loads to do
    • Catch up with friends on FB rather than texting people
    • Read newspaper online
    • Need to check out the freebies and the competition boards
    • Enter comps online
    • Washing on a quick wash 30 degrees
    • Managed to lose/drop my mobile in town (somewhere its MIA) – need to speak to Virgin and ask them to suspend the sim until I find my phone or they can get a new sim to me!......luckily it was my old handset (I have put my new handset on an auction site, just need to explain that to them…might just say that I didn’t get along with it and gave it to ‘a friend’)

    Have a great day everyone
