Accepting and then refusing a BIN

What is the outcome of accepting a BIN price and being paid via Paypal and then being offered considerably more from another buyer before posting?
Anyone's thoughts?
I know I'll get a negative and a strike (I believe)

sounds a bit dishonest but why not tell the first buyer that the item has been damaged or that you found out it was stolen and the police came round for it. make sure the second buyer pays up before you do this though.squaaaaaaaaacccckkkkkk!!!! :money:0

Its people like you who abuse ebay!!!!!!!!!
you chose a Buy it Now price you were willing to accept. the other person has done nothing wrong and has paid quickly. Cancel it if you must, but you'll definately get a negative!XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0 -

buyers no longer fall for this kind of story, the same way sellers no longer believe that all non-payers had just come out of hospital...
unfortunately people like you make life difficult for all the honest, genuine sellers out there..0 -

It is sellers like you who give the honest sellers on ebay a bad name. I have never gone back on a a BIN yes I may have lost a few quid. But after all that is the spirit of ebay, some you win some you loose. I hope that you get a slating if you go ahead and if the buyer comes on here saying that he lost out I will be one of the 1st copying this and pasting it so that you can be kicked off ebay.Lifes a !!!!! and then you marry one:D0 -
People get very over excited on here don't they?

Morally I can't do it, unfortunately this is one of those very rare occasions when I should have waited for my 15mins claim to fame on the Antiques Roadshow.

Good for you for honouring the sale.
It's an issue people get very agitated about, because it can have an effect on your account, and it's a nuisance and destroys confidence in eBay in general. You don't just have an impact on your sales - you have an impact on everyone else's because people associate the problems with the whole of eBay rather than just with one anonymous seller. If you get a neg for non-perfomance, then it would probably be hard for someone coming in from outside without knowing the other side of the story to take you seriously, and if the buyer goes away and says "forget eBay, they don't honour the price even though that was what they stated up front", not only have you lost a customer, but several thousand other people have too. Some people here rely on eBay for a living, hence the over-excitement."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

I appreciate that CQ and it's good to hear how everyone has strong feelings on doing the right thing.
Let's just say my eagerness has cost me several hundred pounds
On the plus side I won't be making the same mistake again............hopefully! Saving money right, left and centre0 -
Ouch.
Good luck - perhaps there are more where it came from."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

If the profit is good enough, I would have ditched the 1st buyer and sold to the 2nd, coming up with some make believe story for the 1st.
Yes, morally that may be wrong, unfair and look bad at the rest of the sellers, but I'd be selling it for the money anyway. If it were a customer I would be using fairly often, then I would honor the sale, but this is a one off sale.
And at least I'm honest about it.Thought for the day: each generation of mankind tends to hug the illusion of having reached the culmination of human achievement. Yet, as we scoff at our groping ancestors, so our descendants will surely scoff at us.
