    I disagree.
Being a honest and reliable seller makes perfect business sense, if you are in it for the long term.
If you want to make a quick buck selling fake stuff and disappear probably not (but ebay have restrictions in place to stop that anyway...).

When you build good, solid feedback, over time, when people know they can trust you with their money, that they will get what they have paid for and if there is a problem you will be helpful, you can charge more than you competitors, and rely on a steady income from repeat sales. You can even open a website and get people to follow you.
Looking at the bigger picture, the more people feel ebay is a safe place to shop, the more they will be willing to part with their money, and more of it. So we all benefit from it.

A neg or low stars hurt a seller's profit, there is no doubt. Taking risks for a short term gain, and a long term loss, does not make business sense.

No they won't, and more to the point don't, stop shopping on ebay. Find one current buyer who has never had a bad experience. I've had a couple over the years. People are not stupid. They know what ebay is. It's a massive market of different sellers, just like the biggest shopping centre in the world.

    Extremely interesting Hintza.

I bought my item at a local auction house. It was an "extra" to the main item I was bidding on. It's description consisted of two words. I think the original seller will be more peeved than I am if they had the information I have.

I was responding to your statement about people who make a living from ebay, which I quoted on the post :)
