Nationwide Loan PPI Help
monlou
I took out a loan with Nationwide in September 2006.
I was then made redundant in January 2009 up until this point the monthly payment was paid on time etc....
I tried to make a claim on the PPI in January of 2009 only to be told that I was unable to make a claim as my employer had put on the claim form that I voluntary resigned from the company. To cut a very long story short I ended up taking my former employer to an Employment Tribunal as I had several witnesses stating that he had intention of making me redundant. I was told by Norwich Union (the company that handles the insurance claims) that I had to wait until my case was settled at the tribunal. Last year July I was told that my employer wanted to settled out of court as a result I only received £500 which was an absolute insult but I had no other choice but to accepted the settlement. I was then made to sign a form by solicitor stating that I must not reveal the settlement with any Third parties. My question is am I now allowed to make a claim based on this to the Nationwide or is this classed as a third party making me in breach of the settlement agreement? is it worth going to the Financial Ombudsman? not sure what steps to take now. I have been unemployed two years now and am currently on a dmp with payplan.
Thank you

I wasnt following this thread as I generally look out for MPPI rather than PPI. Di3004 messaged me and asked me to take a look.
However, I don't think I can be of much help. I'm not sure anyone here can. The only one that really can be of help is your solicitor. They will be able to tell you what the legal position is.is it worth going to the Financial Ombudsman?
I cant see how personally as if you cant tell Aviva then you cant tell the FOS either. That said, not telling them the details of the settlement is not the same thing as getting confirmation that the redundancy was not voluntary. Although I wouldnt want to say. Hence why I think you need to ask your solicitor.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
