    I have contacted my local store and they will be re-imbursing the cost and sending out an alternative for me this afternoon.

    That's a good outcome too, I find that sainsbury's customer service is often very good. :)

    'Sell by' dates are simply there to make sure that the customer has a minimum amount of time to eat the product once they have it at home. This will of course vary per product, but I would expect home delivery items to not have any later dates than those in the shop. But deliveries will always give you the items they are wanting to get rid of first!

    I definately won't be eating it (yukk), it was for my hubby who is away tonight any way.

    I agree sloppy service BUT why would you not be eating it now? Do you think it suddenly turns?

    As said it was for her husband, there is a good chance she would never be eating it, minging stuff that it is :cool:
