Sainsburys shopping delivery - food past shelf life

I have taken delivery this morning of my groceries and have just checked the dates of items as I am putting them in the fridge (which I always do) and I have received a Chicken Liver Pate with a Display Date of 09Jan Use by 11Jan.
I would normally just ring up and get a refund on the item if it has a short shelf life, but I wasn't told about this one on the paper work and surely it shouldn't have been on the shelf as the display date has passed.
Should I just contact Sainsburys as normal ?
Any help is appreciated.
TIA

Yes, it is 10th January today.
My point is, it has a display date of 9th January, if this has no relevance why print it.Born and bred in Manchester (proud of it)

The order would have been picked on the 9th most likely. If your that bothered about display dates go to the sueprmarket and get the stuff your self.0

I work at Tesco and I can tell you that it is Illegal to sell stuff past it's display until date, even if it has a use by of a couple days longer.
That's what my manager tells me quite often.
Take it to your local store and speak to the customer services, I'm sure they'll replace it for you0 -
It's the 'Use by' date which is important.0

The product is still OK to use, if it's within the use by date, but it's pretty poor service to deliver something after the display date. I'd be annoyed if I got something that was on the display date; such items usually end up in the mark downs section precisely because they have a short life.
I'd complain to Sainsburys about it. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, it's probably just an oversight on their part not removing it from the shelves before it got picked for your order.0 -
I'd ring customer services and complain, as you'll be pushed to eat it all by tomorrow if you only received it today. Chances are it was an oversight by the person who packed the stuff.XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX:wave:XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX0

Display until
"Date marks such as 'display until' or 'sell by' often appear near or next to the 'best before' or 'use by' date. They are used by some shops to help with stock control and are instructions for shop staff, not shoppers.
The important dates for you to look for are the 'use by' and 'best before' dates."
