What car is it? Do you have a recirculate switch? If yes, is it set to recirculate.

Try turning on the AC or climate control if you have one. This may help.

    Read your owners manual?

I occasionally have times during the winter where the car is constantly dripping in condensation, put some newspaper down in your footwells for a few days draws moisture out the air.

When you got the blowers on, air con dries the air in the car, so use that. also on a dry day (which i know can be rare) dont be afraid to leave the windows open a touch (providing the car is somewhere safe/where you can keep your eye on it...)

Aircon wont work below 4 or 5 degrees, It may light up but it wont actually kick in unless the temp rises.

Check for leaks, and wet areas? Lots of short journeys?

When you clear the windows, turn the heater down, and blow cooler air over the glass. Having hot air
in the car when you park up will make matters worse.

I found the snow on the floor from our feet made it steam up very easily.

Open the windows and air the car from time to time?

Unsuprisingly if you get in the car having just got out of the shower each morning, dry off inside it then only momentarily pop the door open to hop in/out humidity builds up quite quickly inside the sealed space inside the car

Are you sure about that? Air con. plus full heat has always been my recipe for fast demisting but perhaps the controls on some cars don't permit this combination.
  • Give the inside of the windows a proper clean using window cleaner and some elbow grease.

It is true, no car I have owned since '99 has had A/C that worked below 5oC, my Mondeo A/C wouldn't work till it was 7 or 8oC.

It used to be mentioned in your owners manual, not sure why, I assume there is a technical reason, but I agree it would make the car easier to demist.

In the OP's position if the car is steaming up even with the heated screen on then it sounds like there is a leak somewhere, or my opinion is that the recirc switch has been left on.

Got in to use my wifes Clio last week and the wiondows where all steamed up, and she had left the recirc turned on, she put it on durig the cold snap last month and never turned it off.
