    Assuming you have banks accounts with Halifax and Barclays, you have higher chance of getting credit facilities with them, due to running the accounts well, been with them for a long time, have lots of products with them, good internal score, your address matches their internal systems, etc...

    Barclaycard and AMEX both online. I have never had an account with either, prior to opening these CC acounts.
    I do however bank with Halifax.
    Did you choose the credit limit, or is it automatically generated?
