As post #15 states, you should be able to use the Vista OEM SLP key. What is the manufacturer of the laptop and what is the Vista version you are using. Once we have this information we may be able to help you activate Vista via this method."Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect." - Mark Twain0

Hey guys, I have now located my product key by using Magic Jelly Bean Keyfinder. I thought this would be the end of my problems but, nowthe computer will noy accept the code with the error message 0xC004E003.
Any idea what my next move should be
.
Cheers guys
If you wiped and reinstalled your machine THERE IS NO KEY PRESENT TO RECOVER any efforts to 'recover' toyr key from your machine will produce a gibberish number that will not work.
You need to either try one of the default/SLP keys that will work if you have the correct manufacturers hardware with the necessary bits hard coded in.
Alternatively try santers approach to get a NEW key from microsoft (which as we've established will be a brand new key, not one they get / recover somehow from your disk). Perhaps there will be a solution if you supply Microsoft evidence of a worn out sticker somehow.
Finally you'll need to buy a new one if no luck with the above.0 -
Another option if the manufacturer / retailer will send a copy invoice, or you already have any of the other items they will accept

When i couldn't get microsoft word to accept a key i rang microsoft and they gave me a new key completely free of charge. They are very helpful and would definitley advise you to ring them up.0

Yes, if it is a dell machine you need to use a dell disk OR any other disk and use the SLC code for dell linked above
if it is a Toshiba machine you need to use a Toshiba disk OR any other disk and use the SLC code for toshiba linked above
Or try your luck with microsoft0
