I got a new bike just before December and I still haven't used it, due to the weather :( too scared!

How far do you all travel? I'm starting out doing only 2.5miles a day to the station, but thinking of trying the further away station in another town after a while.. need to shift some weight!
    9/70lbs to lose :)
  • my current work place is 11m away but down a extremely dark busy road on the way to various power plants you see the cars fly out last minute when they finally see the cyclists

so its just the summer for me
wish i didnt have a life yrs ago!! i wouldnt have been this poor
  • I'm still cycling almost every day, but then the weather here hasn't been too bad. I stopped for a couple of days when the roads by my house were covered in sheet ice, but then I started walking my bike to the main road and carrying on from there.

If you go to some dedicated cycle forums (like CycleChat) you'll find people swapping tips on the best way to ride through 18 inches of snow!

Lol, the best way to ride through 18 inches of snow is on a snow plough.
Last Jan I slipped on ice whilst walking up a hill and tore my left forearm muscle catching myself from falling, couldn't use my arm properly for over 6 weeks. It had just got better when I fell off a BMX that I was having a go of in the local skate park, left collar bone ended up sticking out my shoulder. Over 8 weeks before I could cycle again, still nor right and gives me pain lol. This is why i've decided to leave my bike till the weather gets better, accident prone me thinks. :-)
Gave up trying to have funny Sigs..
