February 2011 Brides and Grooms

I am a feb bride to! I get married in 12 days on the 12th feb, I am soo excited/nevous/happy/stressed!

Arrghhh.. final planning? I feel like I haven't done anything :rotfl::rotfl:

I did dispatch the travel guides to the guests today (thank you amazon - I loooovee you for dielivering stuff to people from my desk!) so they have a little while to do some shopping.

mittenkitten - that sounds amazing too! I'm loving the eclectic choices on this thread

Birdie - that sounds like a plan. Our paperwork was horrific - OH is German, so I had to have all my forms done, then the examination in Germany - they also wanted to examine my documents even though we weren't getting married in Germany - so they all had to be officially translated into german, examined... Then... we had the problem that the whole lot needed apostilles and the passport copies had to have notorial stamps - cue me high-tailing it to Milton Keynes and OH getting a late flight to Damstadt; the whole lot getting faxed to the venue then the real things sent by courier. It took two months to get it ironed out - our invites went out late because we couldn't for sure say we were getting married until the venue had all the documents. If I'd have thought of that I;d have done the same - that way we could have had the "just the two of us" wedding we really wanted!

My family stressing me out. My aunt is objecting to my grandmother travelling (she's in her early '80's but she's as sharp as anything and wants to come and is well travelled, more so than my parents) but my aunt is being a PITA about it.

My grandmother is traveling with my parents, so it's not like she is going on to be on her own at any point! But my aunt is flapping like a crazy thing and upsetting my grandmother with her nutcaseness and drastically annoying me. She's demanding all the flight and hotel details etc as "she'd just worry". (Mind you, she's also pressuring my grandmother to change her will to make her the sole executor (rather than joint with my mum and my uncle) so she is a proper control freak with a side order of loopy). I just wish if people are going to do loopy they just go and do loopy on their own rather than annoy other people with it.

None of the aunts and uncles are invited. I don't think I cope.

It's not feburary in my head... (*puts hands over ears and starts singing loudly to block out feburary*)

Ooo-er this time tomorrow I'll be getting ready to go to the registry office for my sneaky wedding! Despite us telling The Mothers that it's just a paperwork exercise and that we're not making a big deal about this wedding they've both bought new frocks and keep sending me excited texts! Bless 'em!

Only 2 weeks and one day until the 'big' wedding!

suitcases packed
passports etc all sorted
i am so excited am fit to burst!!
just want to be there now
roll on canada
roll on friday! which is our wedding day
we've managed to secure our spiritual dancer too
so we're all good to go
won't be back on till march now

Wedding #1 was fab for me! Short and sweet ceremony, very long boozy lunch with the parents afterwards. My Mum surprised me with a little bouquet which was lovely! Quite odd being married but 'not' since we're classing the wedding abroad as the proper wedding, but it's quite nice; we keep calling each other 'Husband' and 'Wife' when we talk to one another, very funny feeling! Only 6 days left till we fly and I really can't wait now!
