Can't Get Paddle Out of BM bread without destroying the loaf

Thanks everyone for your suggestions :beer:I worked out the timings now for my morphy richards and took out the paddle before it started the bake part of the cycle - then all that's left is the hole from the spindle.
I think this is what I shall have to do - just made a loaf & taking it out I noticed the paddle is completely lost in the bread with just a small hole where the spindle was. Ferreting about in the loaf has destroyed quite a bit again. There is nothing stuck in the paddle that would make it sit too high on the spindle, & the bread mixes fine, so I'm baffled.
Bit of a design flaw...:rotfl:
Can't believe I didn't think of taking it out before the bake part of the cycle though - darn obvious when it has been pointed out by someone with more common sense than me!& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

I have a little tool that came with my latest BM, a cheapo Tesco model. It's basically a stout piece of wire with with a small right angle section at the top. It slides up the hole in the centre of the paddle, catches over the rim and you can pull the paddle right out. Easy!
A skinny crochet hook would work just as well I would think.Val.0 -
My problem is a bit different - I can't get the damn paddle off it's spindle.
I can't get mine off the spindle either, it stuck when it was a few months old and has been like it for several years now. It's an MR BM.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

hi....i have just purchased a bread maker and the top two thirds of the bread i make is great....however the plastic paddle comes away when i tip up the loaf out and the bottom third is ripped apart by the paddle
hope that makes sense....any ideas ???
thankyouonwards and upwards0 -
The make and model of the machine may help.
Also the recipe used, along with the make of ingredients0 -
I only use the breadmaker to do the dough, resting and kneading bit then i take it out and put it into a loaf tin and leave to prove before baking it. You get a much better shaped loaf which i think is better value ( you can only get so many slices out of a tall short loaf) and the paddle will always ruin a fair few slices even when it comes out cleanly.0

Look through the instruction booklet and it will probably tell you the timings of each step in the bread-making process. If you can work out the time of the last "knock-back" of the dough, you can remove the paddle as it has finished it's work! Just push aside the dough with clean hand and remove the paddle. The dough will have just been knocked back after the 2nd rising so it shouldn't affect the finished loaf."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

I bought a Panasonic breadmaker and got so frustrated with it I gave it away.
Now I make my bread by hand and it turns out lovely and all that kneading relaxes me.
To be honest I prefer to do most things by hand, kitchen gadgets just frustrate me and take up valuable space.
I've bought so many gadgets over the years and everyone goes to a new home after the novelty wears off.
You'd think I'd of learned by now would'nt you .0
