Advice needed on Sky Broadband

Hi all
I have been a Sky broadband user since early 2008 and this was included in my TV package (paying £66 per month for movies, sports, HD, etc).
I received an email on 25/10/10 to advise that I had gone over my monthly usage limit of 2GB and that if this happened again within the next 6 months, I would be upgraded from everyday lite to unlimited at a cost of £7.50 per month.
Then on 03/01/11 I had another email warning that I had reached 70% of my limit and will be automatically upgraded if this is exceeded and on a 12 month contract.
I do use the internet most days but I don't think my usage has increased dramatically and the everyday lite package has previously served my needs since 2008.
Do you think £7.50 is a reasonable amount for this upgrade or should I try to find a better TV and Broadband deal?
If it's just a matter of a few pounds I would not be bothered to switch but if anyone has any other ideas I would be very grateful.
Thanks

£7.50 is a good price for unlimited broadband.
To get that price you must also be taking Sky Talk, as otherwise you would be paying £12.50.
Watching a couple of hours a week on the iplayer would soon use up your 2Gb allowance.
Also if you wish to upgrade to Sky Anytime + VOD, then you must have Sky broadband.
PS do you watch enough movies/sports to justify the expense?

I'm on unlimited at 12.50 a month but just got my SKYTV down to half price for a year. May be you can talk to them to strike a deal?0

Many thanks for your replies.
We do use most of the channels - movies, sport, etc. And (sad as I am) I was awake every night watching the Ashes cricket for the past couple of months - think I have displaced jetlag!
penrhyn thanks for the info but I definitely do not have sky for my phone provider.0 -
If you use the internet everyday/most days then the free package is not for you. These days you can use 2 GB in half an hour if you arent careful. Literally, 3 hour length documentaries on bbc iplayer would use it up. I could use 2GB in as long as it takes you to fart.
£7.50 is one of the best deals going.0 -
The 2GB 'free' broadband was only ever a cynical bait and switch tactic to get people to sign up to Sky, almost all but the lightest users would find it inadequate. No free lunch, and no free laptop

OK, If they are offering you Unlimited for £7.50 make sure its not just a bait and switch, and is for the long term.
PS Superb Ashes coverage on BBC Radio 5 Live, the pictures are better and you could listen under the duvet! That gum you like is coming back in style.0
