Got quite an imagination hasn't he. Does he always tell so many lies ?

    Good idea emailing the agent
He is claiming that they said he has to call back tomorrow to cancel the booking as they can not alter the system at the weekend. I will email the agent now to ask them not to alter or cancel the booking unless they have written confirmation from me.

    We cross posted.

I would call them rather than email. Then if he goes off on another rant you can casually mention you've already spoken to them to clarify the situation. Then mention you're off out shopping for bikinis and leave him to argue with himself.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

I will do both just so there is no doubt I have contacted them and they can not 'lose' the details of my phone call.
  • Sounds to me like he may be bluffing about calling the agents. Can't imagine why the travel agent would open if they couldn't make any bookings etc on their systems.
From Starrystarrynight to Starrystarrynight1 and now I'm back...don't have a clue how!

Only the lead passenger on the booking can change or cancel it, and normally in writing. He is bluffing.

He's definitely bluffing, whats important in this is you said you are going in less than a weeks time so even if he did cancel it would be 100% loss anyway so neither of you would get any money back, how stupid would he be to do that and only you as lead passenger can do anything on that booking, so if i were you i'd call his bluff and tell him you've done a name change and he's not going lol. If for some reason the travel agent has canx it then you'd be be able to claim against their incompetence because they shouldn't be dealing with him at all, unless you've given them permission to.
