Hello fellow August brides!
I had lost track of this thread but just managed to catch up. Sounds like everyone is progressing well.
It's been a busy time for us - OH has had a kidney transplant  and so not much wedding planning has happened over that time period.
I have tried to get back into it this week though. I think i'll post a summary (more for my benefit than anyone elses but maybe you can spot something I've missed!)
Venue & registrar - sorted, need to meet with them to finalise menu and numbers etc
Invites - sent. RSVPs slow (is this an eternal problem?)
Bride - dress ordered, no shoes yet, seen some nice jewellry but not bought
Groomsmen - no suits as yet
Rings - bought yesterday
Bridesmaids - dresses and shoes sorted. no jewellry yet - do i need to buy their jewellry aswel?!
Music - OH supposed to be sorting playlists etc. Band booked but need to meet with them to finalise what they play.
Stationery/Favours - not done, need to buy stuff
Cake - cupcakes ordered
Flowers - got a quote, need to think about what we want and then book
Hair/Makeup - got hairdresser coming on the day, need to arrange a trial. Thinking about going for a makeup lesson at a dept store and doing it myself.
So, plodding on with it but I still feel like there's lots to do0 -

Hi
Hope your Oh is ok0 -
Good luck ladies
Has anyone used Vistaprint for making A5 card sized invites? We have a lot of info to convey so have been slowly making them online.
I ordered my dress online, made to my orders in China  I am so frightened it'll be rubbish!!! But I am a big lady & can't afford Bridal Shop prices (plus I want sleeves *and* knee length LOL) Fingers crossed..... I told them July 2nd so if it is awful I have 1 month to find something here.0 -
Hi to all the August '12 brides! Thought I'd have a nosey in here as this will be me this time next year. It's lovely to hear all your plans getting finalised and seeing how excited you are all getting. I wish mine was this August but I imagine it will soon come round! Been smoke free for 4 years!! :beer:0

Our wedding is 11 weeks today and I can't wait...Luckily time is passing really quickly so it won't be long! We are just finishing off the last of the planning and buying the last bits and bobs (mainly presents at the moment which are a struggle as can't buy flowers for either mums so need to get my thinking cap on!).
I have booked my hair and make up trial but I have booked it exactly a week before the wedding as I am trying to get my hair to shoulder length and so it should be slightly longer at the time of the wedding so can't have the trial just yet (which is a shame and I have no idea how to have it...does anyone have any good websites with ideas?!)
Other than that it's finding a cheap teeth whitener (again not sure what to do!) and picking some new honeymoon clothes....I just can't wait!!!0 -

Teeth whitener, the best i used was one that had to be used when on a sunbed so no good if u dont use them,im quite lucky really that my teeth are quite white but the stuff u paint on and leave is quite good to.its about £10 in boots looks like a mascara tube,i used that a few years back and found it ok aswell.Other than that unless u have around £100 spare u could have them done at a beauty salon, but depending on how discoloured they are would depend on how many sessions u needed.0 -
Thanks Hollie, my teeth aren't too bad, I don't smoke or anything so no bad stains but would just like them a bit whiter, I've heard about Crest white strips on ebay, do you know if they are any good?0
