i went onto virgin media webpage and ordered tv,broadband and phone all went through ok got a date was coming to install.
i get an email telling me that they can not come and install as there is an outstanding balance at this address . i put on the aplication bit that we moved in may 10 ...and gave my previous address. doesn't tell me to ring and sort it out just says i can not have it ?
what does this actually mean ? ...i have never had virgin media either!

VM do credit checks so what it means is that whoever lived there before has left owing money or someone signed up using another address & then changed it later on.0 -

id give them a call and explain what you have put here, maybe ask them how or what you can do to prove you moved in may 2010, for example some kind of proof you moved in may 2010
there might be another option but i dont know of another 1, well i guess you could email someone further up the food chain

You'll have to ring them and ask, they may require a deposit from you to get the services.Reason they do credit checks,in part,is that unlike Sky,you don't own any of the equipment that they supply, you only 'rent' it.
That's how VM can do service calls for free where as Sky charge £65 after the first year.0
