Miller & Carter - dress code for children!!

Blimey when my kids were that age that was all I could get them to wear when it was too cold for shorts...they lived in those and even though I'd have liked them in jeans or other trousers they just wouldn't wear them without whinging the place down and tbh it was just never worth the battle. A few years later and it turned round totally of course! But back then I'd have been horrified to be turned away from a family friendly place on those grounds. I've been more put off in restaurants by smartly and expensively dressed kids with no manners and basic inability to saty in one place and not annoy the heck out of other diners. Give me a quieter happy child in trackies anyday0

I've had a good look at the web site and can't find any mention of a dress code for children. Madness!!!0

How ridiculous, if they wish to enforce a dress code it should be clearly outlined. What town was this in?0

It's the one at Cheshire Oaks outlet village, but i expect this happens at all of their pubs / grills.0

Just had a quick look at their website and there is nothing obvious about dress code. Most people would just have a quick scan at the menu and look up the location, if they even look at the site at all.
Found this though
'Stylish yet unpretentious surroundings
Friendly and helpful staff'
It looks like just another eaterie along the lines of Toby, Angus, Brewers etc. Far too up themselves.
It isn't on the front webpages yet, but soon will be.

This is stupid, we have a local miller and carter (eastwood leigh on sea) and no dress code there as far as i'm aware, there food is lovely and they do try to pull off the posh wine bar look but its just a made up pub. I would def get the paper invovled. I think the manager of this particula restruant is a bit up his own and making up his own rules of how he wants it. Hope you get some good results!:male: 2 Beautiful Boys :male::beer: Not uptomyeyes anymore thanx MSE & friends for all your help:beer:0

Out of interest what were you and the other adults wearing? seems very odd to turn a way a family because of how the kids were dressed. I would be complaining too.0

Unpretentious surroundings? Pity about the pretentious attitude of the staff. I agee with others, write to your local paper and tell as many people as possible to avoid the place, hit them where it hurts most!
