I had a accident at work ,i got IIB benefit , had to go to tribunal were i had a medical there and got 20% rate ...you really have to be very ill to get anything,I.e 80% is near veg like state... i was pleased i won, as this accident robbed me of my life....but be carefull ,,it took me about year to get , you need lots evidence ....only to find after all that hard work in doing so , due to other benefits it took me over the limit and losted about 97 % of it ...in sence better off not claiming and im worse off having itthe truth is out there ... on these pages !!0

Hi, i agree with Black Paw, make sure that in claiming this benefit, it doesnt stop you from getting others, as you could be over the limit. Wish i hadnt claimed it now.0

I don't think I will bother even trying as it seems to be difficult to get and fighting for IB after I lost my appeal is really my priority. Thanks guys.0

Just bumping this thread, I applied for IIDB back in February as I have been diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome, I have a medical for this claim in 2 weeks time, anyone knows what happens at the medical. Thanks.0

Mazza.... I was the OP of this thread back in January. I've been for medical which was around April time. It was very easy, and I found it quite stress free!
I was given a date and time to attend the Medical centre (can't remember name) in Belfast city centre. When I arrived, it was bungee, but was quickly led away to another area where I was personally escorted to the examination room.
The doctor was very polite, asked if in was comfortable, before asking me to recount the events. He then began to write a statement for me, confirming wwith me that what he was writing was accurate.
It took about 40mins and at the end he recapped and confirmed what would happen next.
In May I then found out that I'd been successful, and was awarded 70% payment. I would say try not to get stressed about it, and just treat it like another GP appointment!DFW'ers photography comp member no. 60 -

Thanks, just wondering do they just ask you questions or do they do any tests, I am not worried about it at all, I would rather have this than go for more steroid injections at my GP0 -
In my case only questions, although I'm not sure what tests they could've done in their facilities other than simple blood pressure or BMI or something?
The room I was in was just an office with a desk and two chairs. HTHDFW'ers photography comp member no. 60 -

No idea, give it a shot, but think on these two questions (1) if you could 99% of the typists / computer operators in this country would be on DLA - are they ? and (2) which particular elements of care & mobility caused by ' carpal tunnel syndrome ' will entitle you to DLA ?Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I try to be an even-handed poster and accept that you at times may not agree with these opinions or how I choose to express them, this is not my problem.
