MOT brake light question

Yes, but I was refering to spot lights, which would be at the front of the car, would they not? I never mentioned rear foglamps. I presumed by 'spot' lights we were talking about the type of lights rally cars have at the front of them, to illuminate the road to a higher intensity, albeit on a legal scale (not as bright).Rear fogs are part of the MOT test.0 -

Reg 18 Schedule1.
18(1) Every part of every braking system and of the means of operation thereof fitted to a vehicle shall be maintained in good and efficient working order and be properly adjusted.
Without prejudice to paragraph (3), where a vehicle is fitted with an anti-lock braking system ('the ABS'), then while the vehicle is completing a journey at the beginning of which the ABS was operating correctly or is being driven to a place where the ABS is to undergo repairs, any fault in the ABS shall be disregarded for the purposes of paragraph (1).

Thanks for all the replies.
OH had a look at the lights in question to see if it was easily fixable but it looked very time consuming & tricky to get 'at' the bulbs. I might phone the garage who is doing my MOT on friday to ask them if it would be a fail. Don't want to bring their attention to it, but obviously don't want a fail.
They failed me once on a defective windscreen wiper which I had JUST replaced with a new one, and when I asked for the 'old' one back they had 'thrown it away'. Was not happy, however, there are new staff there now.
UPDATE
Just phoned garage & spoke to MOT tester. Would not be a fail."Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0 -
Just a final update. Car passed MOT - good ol' 10 yr old rover 25 - well maintained! He even kindly fitted new bulbs FOC.
The brake light thing, confirmed by MOT tester, was that 50% of the lights in question had to be working for it to pass the MOT."Sometimes letting things go is an act of far greater power than defending or hanging on.”0
