Best Phone

I am about to take out a contact with 3. My kids already use 3 and we have been very happy with the 3 service and delighted by the unbeatable deals. I have only ever had Nokia phones in the past & I have always believed them to be the best & easiest to use, but Nokia's don't seem to be readily available from the mobile companies offering the best deals. Can anyone familiar with 3 tell me the best phone to use on the 3g network. Obviously, ease of use and reliability (as I have enjoyed with my Nokia 6310i) are my primary interest. I am in my 50's and am not particularly interested in lots of gizmo's. Thanks a lot for any replies.

  • The Nokia 6630 - best phone I ever had (on 3). Solid, reliable, plenty of features but simple to use.

Not sure about the best phone on three
but I know you do get the nokia 6280, nokia n70, n73, n80 all on the three network.

I breifly had the 6280 and found it a nice feeling phone with a solid sliding mechanism. A big screen and overall not too chunky.
http://threestore.three.co.uk/phoneplan.aspx?offercode=&phoneDesc=Nokia_6280_Plum&phoneCode=NO6280PTDS&tariffid=0 is a list of deals

Remember to use https://www.quidco.co.uk if you buy through three since they will give you £100 cashback

I saw an N70 once and didn't like it because the keys were too small for me to easily press one and not press another.
Not sure about the rest of the nokias as have no experience of them.

The N73 is the best on three. The N80 is also very good but has some drawbacks. And yes you are 100% right: Nokia is the best mobile out there.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

I am looking at getting the Nokia 6280 for my DD. I have seen a refurbished plum phone on 3 website for £15 per month for 18 months (this is at half the original price for the whole 18 months). I noticed on Pigsback that you can also get 10,000 points. Am I right in thinking that is £100?? Do you think this is a good deal as I am not a member of Quidco and it seems quite complicated!!??

Quidco is so easy, even my husband can manage it!

I do like the look of the Plum 6280!

"best phone" is all a matter of individual preference....and depends what you want it for. I have had Nokia's, Samsung's & Sony E's & liked them all for various reasons. You always find your latest phone is the "best ever" and mine is the white SE w810i - not too big, easy layout, good camera/video, great MP3 player, expandable and looks fantastic....

if you want nice and easy go for the 6280 or 6233 avoid the n-series - unless you want a smart phone or 'amazing' features which it doesnt sound like you do
    Yes Your Dukeiness :D
  • I have never had a Nokia - never wanted one.

I'm not quite as mature and wise as the OP - but would recommend the Sony Ericsson k800i to anyone. It has the best camera available ( that should start a fight with the Nokia lovers ).

The camera is always there - any time you want a quick snap of the grandchildren you simply slide open the lens cove and press the photo button.

Yes, I'd agree that the video camera is not as good as some, and yes the M3 player is wonderful ( might not be of interest to OP ), but overall the phone can:

    Make calls,
Take great photos ( which survive even when printed as 8"x10") ,
    Be used by all.

Just my opinions - they are all mine, and noone else can have them ...
