Space on C Drive

If you're running Vista, it'll be System Restore taking up the space.
Exactly !! That's why I linked to my vista disk cleanup post from a good while ago. I've found that this is one of those issues that the more non-techie user just doesn't get, and when you show them the results they are astounded.......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

windows 7 can take alot of c drive up with its restore function aswell. It was suprising to find my C drive full a few weeks ago, about 60% was down to restore related files.
In windows 7 you can set the maximum disk space for the system to use for its restore / system protection.
To do this click on start
Right click on computer and go to properties
Click on system protection (left hand side)
Click on configure near the bottom
and set the disk space using the slider
between 5 & 10 GB is usually more than enough for a decent number of restore points.Information is provided as a guide only. Please do not assume that all information is 100% accurate. Information used is done so at the risk of the reader.
