Yay, well done on saving yourselves all that money instead of paying for the special licence. Thats what we are doing too, going to attend church instead. Feels a bit cheeky but the rev said it was ok so I'll take it rather than pay £250 odd for the licence!

DONT FREAK OUT!! You have ages to go, don't stress! What's up? This lot are so organised (unlike me) I'm sure they will sort you out!
Having said that, I am probably a bit too much the other way - my oh, my mum, my sister, even my sister's boyfriend are all nagging me about stuff! To placate them I am going to see the DJ tomorrow night and will probably put a deposit down on that if he seems good, and then next week I am going to see the car (blue jag I posted a while ago) and will prob put money down on that if I can as well.
I might actually nick Natalie's List Of Amazing Organisedness (TM) and see what I have and haven't done. Still have a week before we go back to school and (dare I say it) I'm ever so slightly bored...
On a non wedding note though, I do have a new laptop - and I got it for free! My friend (who is really well off) bought herself a new one, used it for about six weeks and decided she didn't like it, so bought herself another one! By then it was too late to take it back. She offered it to me but I said I couldn't afford it so told her to sell it on ebay or something, but she wouldn't and I found it in the boot of my car when I got back from hers :rotfl:She will be being taken out for a nice meal and lots of drinkies next time I visit her!

Tracey - please don't freak out - I really hope my said LoAO hasn't contributed to it!! My problem is I won't do anything weddingy during term time, and there is now only 7 more school holidays between now and the wedding to get it all done. That and the fact that I'm an odd ball lol.
Can you say what it is that you are panicking over? Or is it just a general feeling of being confronted by a mammoth task? If it's this - my advice would be to pick something and start organising it.It doesn't necessarily need to be the thing that needs doing first, choose something you can get your teeth into - I'm sure once you have one thing sorted (even if it's like me and you've just bookmarked websites/written a list) you'll feel better.
Mel - hurrah for your friend and new laptop!! Now to fill it with Wedding junk!! :rotfl:0 -
Its not you guys at all. I am actually very well organised (to the point where everyone thinks I am crazy). I think it is all this wedding talk everywhere I look because of the royal wedding xx0
-
Oh god I know what you mean!! I mean there is only ONE important wedding - Mine!! :rotfl:
It does make me grateful/proud though - that ours is so non-frills!0 -
Hello- ive been away for a day- and I felt a bit ost without coming on here talking wedding!!:rotfl:
LauraR- your little poem is good. I like the wishing well aswell. And :j on getting the church you want without it costing you the extra money.
Mel- how nice of your friend, and:j to having a new laptop!
Well on our way home from our little trip we went to Ikea and I got jars for my sweetie buffet and also went to the range and I got 4 sets of tea bag squeezers to be used as tongs for the buffet so thats most of that sorted, just need to get bags and maybe a few scoops and then sweets closer to the time. My tiara has been dispatched- I cant wait to see it!:j0 -
I feel a bit sorry for William and Kate though, because they couldn't have done a no frills wedding even if they had wanted to! Can you imagine the uproar if they had just turned up one day and gone, oh yeah by the way we're married...!
I like the sweet buffet poem, good to have it matching with the invites!
Ah I love The Range, haven't been in there in a while, also Ikea, last time I took a trip there they had loads of lovely turqoise paper napkins in different designs but I hadn't decided on the colour scheme yet! Sod's law haha. I did just see some tea lights in the same aqua colour in Asda though so will keep them in mind, they were scented was the only problem and I hate scented candles. Will have to look out for some others.
Right well our DJ is now booked, :j he will be sending the confirmation out and I'll pay the deposit tomorrow so thats another thing crossed off the list. The DJ bloke had an amazing brand new Mac with a huge screen in his office, jealous much!! He kept banging on about wedding stuff and all I could think of was my computer envy! :rotfl: But it all seems good, he was flicking through the months on his diary to get to next July and he was full of bookings - last month they even did a function in Switzerland or somewhere that Barack Obama went toand provided dance floors for Shakira's tour! Thats always a good sign!
Do you think I should ring the venue and tell them I have booked a DJ to check it's ok with the early set up and stuff? Or should I do that nearer the time?
I'm also toying with the idea of uplighters after seeing one in his office - We'd need about 10 of them which would come to £90 plus VAT so I'm thinking that I'm just being frivolous - looks pretty cool though!
Somebody tell me NOOOO YOU DO NOT NEED THAT!!!!!
